Overview

Regular inspections to strict testing standards using the appropriate equipment can significantly reduce or even eliminate the likelihood of a major accident. Tube exchangers, turbines, or primary circuits are potential areas of concern within a power plant—problems that can be avoided if the flaws that cause them are detected early on. To enable this there is a need for high quality inspection instruments that can penetrate difficult-to-reach areas easily and that are portable. Ultrasonic testing (UT) is one of the most effective non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for power plant maintenance.

Our products are utilised to inspect the multiple critical assets within a nuclear power station; steam generator tubing, RPV and primary circuit, turbine and secondary and tertiary circuits. Inspections involving complex geometries, like dome ends, can be accomplished using phased array and TOFD ultrasonic scanning with the same device; our LTPA or MP6 products for example.
